Our Story

Hope Starts Here.

At My Father’s House, we believe every family deserves more than just survival — they deserve the chance to thrive. Too many parents and children in our community are living in cars, bouncing between couches, or struggling day to day without a safe place to call home. What they need most is hope — and that’s where we come in.
Located in East Multnomah County, our main family shelter provides a safe, supportive environment for up to 30 families at a time. Here, parents and children can stay together while addressing the spiritual, physical, emotional, and relational challenges that led them to homelessness

Because more than half of our residents are children, we’ve created a home-like setting filled with structure, accountability, and encouragement. Families take part in life-changing classes and services that empower them to rebuild, grow, and find stability for the future.

We don’t do the work for them — we walk with them. Through guidance, encouragement, training, and prayer, parents learn the skills to build a better tomorrow for themselves and their children.

None of this is possible without the support of our community. My Father’s House is completely privately funded — sustained by the generosity of local churches, businesses, and individuals who believe in second chances.

You are part of the story. Whether through a financial gift, volunteering your time, or spreading the word, your partnership makes hope possible for families who need it most.

Together, we’re not just providing shelter. We’re building futures filled with dignity, opportunity, and hope.
