Our IMPACT

Our Impact Journey – From Crisis to Stability

At My Father’s House, every family’s journey begins with a single brave step — reaching out for help. From that first phone call to lasting stability, here’s how we walk alongside families every step of the way.

The First Call for Help – It starts with courage.

A parent or guardian calls our intake line and leaves a message advising of their specific needs. Within 24–48 hours, one of our case managers returns the call to begin a phone screening, listening to their story and learning about their needs.

The Interview – Meeting face-to-face.

If it seems like a good fit for the program, the family is invited to come in for a panel interview with two or more of our case managers. This approach ensures consistency, fairness, and compassion as we determine if the program can best meet their needs.

The Invitation to Join – A new beginning.

Within 48 hours, families who are accepted into the program receive a call to come back for an intake — the start of their 6-month journey at My Father’s House. They receive a warm welcome, a safe studio apartment, a chance to shop in our shared blessings, and a plan for the future.

Building a Foundation – Accountability and growth.

Because we are a clean and sober program, every adult commits to maintaining sobriety and working toward independence. Residents must find full-time employment within 45 days, and school-age children are required to attend school or have appropriate care if they are under school-age.

Walking the Journey Together – Real-life progress.

Over the next six months, residents meet regularly with their case manager to track budgets, contribute to their family housing fund, set employment goals, and focus on personal growth. Together, they build new habits that lead to lasting change.

Preparing for the Next Step – From surviving to thriving.

As families near the end of the program, they begin applying for apartments and securing sustainable housing. Those facing greater barriers may qualify for our one-year transitional program, Stepping Stone, which provides continued stability and support on the path to independence.

Lasting Change – Hope realized.

By the end of their journey, families leave My Father’s House stronger, employed, housed, and ready to sustain the stability they’ve worked so hard for — breaking the cycle of homelessness for good.

Your support makes every step possible.

From that first call to lasting stability, you help transform fear into hope and hope into a future.
